Guillermo Tello, CFA, CFP®

Vice President and Senior Wealth Advisor

Guillermo is responsible for providing advice and counsel to Washington Trust Wealth Management clients. He works with high net worth individuals and their families to manage and customize their portfolios, to design and implement sophisticated financial plans, and to help them meet their goals through a combination of investment, financial, and tax planning services and advice. He is also a voting member of the Investment Oversight Committee and Equity Committee for The Washington Trust Company.


Guillermo has more than 30 years of experience in the finance industry. Early in his career, Guillermo worked with BankBoston to help launch and manage international offices in both Peru and Mexico and served as a Treasury Management Advisor for the United States Department of the Treasury. Prior to joining Washington Trust, Guillermo served in treasury, portfolio management, and financial planning positions at various regional and national financial institutions.


Guillermo holds an MBA from the University of Rhode Island and a bachelor’s degree from Universidad del Pacifico. He also obtained and maintains a CFP® and CFA, and is fluent in Spanish.


A Rhode Island resident, Guillermo is actively involved in his community. He is a former Board Member of the CFA Society Boston and is a current member of the CFA Society Providence.
