A history of growth

Through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, we have built one of New England’s premier boutique advisory groups.

Rhode Island

In 2000 we acquired Rhode Island’s then largest independent RIA, Phoenix Investment Management, which brought significant expertise in investment research, strategy, and portfolio management.

Massachusetts

In 2005, we grew with the addition of Weston Financial Group, an RIA headquartered in Wellesley, Massachusetts formed in 1979 that specialized in providing comprehensive, goals-based wealth and life management services and the utilization of third-party investment managers to enhance investment portfolio construction.

Connecticut

In 2015 New Haven, Connecticut-based Halsey Associates was added to the Washington Trust Wealth Management family. Founded in 1967, Halsey brought additional expertise in individual equity and fixed income investment portfolio management.

Today, our group operates through an SEC-registered investment advisor and a state-chartered corporation with trust powers. At Washington Trust, we adhere to an ethical code that mandates we act in the best interests of our clients at all times.
