Robert J. Buttie, CTFA

Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer

ROLE

Mr. Buttie is responsible for the administration and management of trust and investment relationships including legacy trusts, special needs trusts, retirement accounts, and high net worth individuals and their families.

EXPERIENCE

Bob brings more than 20 years of trust administration, private banking and investment experience into his work with clients. Before joining The Washington Trust Company in 2014, he worked as an administrator in the investment and trust areas of the Private Bank and Trust Division at Citizens Bank.

EDUCATION

Bob is a graduate of Providence College, with a degree in History, and the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, with a degree in philosophy. He also earned the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation from the American Bankers Association.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Bob is an active volunteer, supporting a wide range of bank-sponsored community activities. He is a volunteer religious education teacher at Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston, RI. He is also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and a Knight in The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
